The [Alt] + [F11] key combination opens the VBA editor directly-but only after you activate the Developer Tools ribbon tab. For this, click the Office button and open “Excel Options”. On the left, select the “Popular” category. Activate “Show Developer tab in the Ribbon” at the top and confirm with “OK”. The new “Developer tools” tab in the ribbon offers more buttons for macro editing and control elements as well as the properties and code of the active element in addition to the desired VBA editor access.

The most exasperating synchronization problems primarily occur when synchronizing with Microsoft Office 2007. You save most of your data-addresses, dates and tasks-in Outlook. After an unexpected synchronization error. Outlook evidently starts preventing further synchronization attempts. Only Microsoft knows why this is so.
Outlook can easily rectify the error on its own. The email program checks itself under “Help | Office Diafnostics” and rectifies some inconsistencies in the system on its own, however without a detailed error description. Now delete the pairing with your Pocket PC in the Windows Mobile Center, reconnect your Windows Mobile Device to the PC and create a new synchronization pair. In most cases, data can be synchronized again.

All PlayStation 3 game software uses Blu-ray disc format. It won’t cause much harm-I think, and Sony will find a way to maintain game software prices on that as-yet-not-exactly-mass disc format. In fact, it’s a brilliant way to promote it after its hard fought victory over HD-DVD.

With its 10in screen and full-size keyboard, this is one of the more practical micro PCs, still smaller and lighter than the equivalent Eee PC.
On the catwalk
One of the reasons for the WInd’s sleek kines is its three-cell battery, good for around three hours’ average use from this Atom-powered, Windows XP version. Berarable, but there are six-cell and Linux versions coming that will last longer, as well as more colours to go with the current black, white and pink options.
- CPU-Atom, 1.6GHz
- Screen-10in, 1024×600
- RAM-1GB
- Hard drive-80GB

You can integrate any website onto the dekstop if you have Windows XP. For this, open Internet Explorer and load the website you want to integrate. This could also be an RSS feed-if this is the case then, click the arrow beside “Display feeds from this website” and select the desired entry in the toolbar. Select the address of the site in the address bar, right-click the selection and copy this onto the clipboard with the “Copy” context command. Close Internet Explorer and right-click on a free space in the dekstop. Click on “Properties” in the context menu and then click the “Customize Dekstop” in the “Dekstop” tab. Select the “Web” tab in the “Dekstop Items” window and then click on “New”.
In the following window “New Desktop Item”, right-click in the “Location” field and click on “Paste” to copy the internet address from the clipboard to the field. Confirm with “OK”. Likewise, acknowledge the following note with “OK”. Make sure that the checkbox next to the entry which has been added is checked in the “Dekstop Items” window and click “OK”.
You will now see an area on the desktop with the specified website. You can move it around the dekstop by hovering over the box and so that the frame appears and you can drag and place this box by holding left-click on the frame. You can also scale the area as a window at its borders with the mouse.
To remove a website integrated in the desktop, open the “Desktop Items” window. Uncheck the box for the corresponding entry and confirm with “OK”. However the address does not get deleted and so this enables quicker activation of this website at a later date. To remove it completely from the list, select the entry and click on “Delete”.

Photoshop is more or less standard for editing digital photos-but many hobby photographers find it too expensive and too complicated. As a community fan, you also find it complicated to first edit the photos on a PC and then upload them. You are looking for an easier way to do all this.
Perhaps a new offer by the software company Adobe, which is still in the beta phase, is the right choice for you: it is an interesting mixture of photo community and photo editor.
The advantage: it can be loaded on the PC from program components without installation and runs entirely on the web. Adobe provides you with 2 GB of free web space after you register on www.photoshop.com/express. You can upload and edit your photos on this space and present them to your friends.
You can optimize the photos, crop them, hide red eyes, correct exposure or switch to black and white with the most important functions directly in the browser-with lightning speed. It is also possible to make extreme modifications such as distorting the image contents. You cannot do this using the same tools as in the professional program, you have small thumbnails at your disposal-thus one can preview the effects of an action. The function is comparable with “Filters” in the Photoshop.
After editing the photos, you can directly store them on the web space or download them to your computer. You can even email the photos from this space. Adobe works together with photo community Flickr and photos can be loaded in Photoshop Express directly from Flickr and can be edited here.

The noise in a PC system is normally due to fans that are too fast and too loud. It is relatively easy to install quiet fans but it is much cheaper to use a fan controller. The Wind Rider made by Cooler Master is one such module. It monitors an area in the PC with a temperature sensor and lets the fans rotate slowly at lower temperatures and with full power when the temperature are high.
After opening the case, connect the system fan to the control module and the module to the fan connection on the motherboard. Fix the temperature sensor to the heatsink of the CPU (or a central place in the cabinet if you want to throttle the fan there) and connect it to the control unit. The threshold temperature after which the fan runs at the maximum rotational spped can be set on the module, as also the speed at which the fan should run below the threshold temperature. Monitor the temperatures that the most important compenets such as the CPU and chipset run at under load. If the value is way above 60 degrees Celcius, turn down the threshold for the temperature. If the fan starts up shortly afterwards, increase the minimum speed.
